Synopsis of Experiment

Subjects are healthy males of similar age, height, and weight.

  1. CO will be determined in three healthy males at rest and after exercise.
  2. Ventricular EDV and ESV will be measured using MRI images.
  3. The length of one cardiac cycle will be measured from an ECG.
  4. HR will be calculated from the measured cardiac cycle lengths.
  5. SV will be calculated from the measured EDV and ESV.
  6. CO will be calculated from HR and SV.
  7. Compare resting and exercising HR, SV, and CO.
